Rain Ends Dramatic Coca-Cola 600, Crowning Ryan Blaney as Victor
History Repeats as Charlotte's Longest Race Falls to Weather
Blaney Joins Elite List of Rain-Shortened Coca-Cola 600 Winners
The 2023 NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 ended in dramatic fashion on Monday night, as rain brought the race to an early conclusion and handed Ryan Blaney an unexpected victory.
The win marked the fourth time in Coca-Cola 600 history that rain has prevented the race from being completed, placing Blaney alongside previous winners under similar circumstances.
The race was also notable for being the first Coca-Cola 600 hosted by Charlotte since the 126th Cup race at the iconic track.
Denny Hamlin, who won the race in 2022, expressed his disappointment at the weather's impact, but acknowledged Blaney's well-deserved win.
"It's tough to lose a race like this, but Ryan ran a great race and he deserves the win," said Hamlin.
